In 2014, Bay Area designer Erica Tanov and I collaborated on a new collection of textiles. Using several of my drawings and collages based on the eight-pointed star and Golden Dahlia quilt pattern, six repeat patterns were generated in cloth and made into bedding, table linens and clothing. The project formed a cycle in which the imagery I work with that is originally drawn from the iconography of early American quilt patterns returned to their origin as textiles made for everyday practical use.
