Learning to Quilt: Small Projects, with Masami Chin
Saturday, November 14, 10am to 1pm
at Repair Shop: 1220 4th Street, Berkeley

limited to 6 participants / all materials included

This workshop is part of a forthcoming series at Repair Shop that offers a small-scale entry point into learning to quilt. Each subsequent class will walk through a different type of pattern and will result in a functional object that can serve as an example for future projects.

In this specific class, participants will learn the fundamentals of sewing and quilting with squares to make a finished potholder with educator and sewist, Masami Chin. From piecing, to quilting, to binding, all steps will be explained so that even a complete beginner will leave with a fun piece to be proud of. In addition to learning technical aspects, we will tap into our innate creativity by playing with color and pattern. Each potholder will feature a unique checkered design with a border and small loop for hanging.
