The Big Picture, Planning and Visioning for Artists

A personal backstory:

Over 20 years ago, I took a transformative weekend workshop put on by Creative Capital in the Bay Area that offered a simple method of planning and visioning that was structured for artists specifically. This experience changed my life and my practice for the long haul by showing me a way to clearly articulate what I wanted, both to experience and to give, with my work.

About the workshop:

This series is informed by what I learned with Creative Capital and takes its own form with writing exercises, readings, discussions and prompts to formulate concrete plans for the coming weeks, months and years of creative practice, with attention to setting goals that are aligned with our individual values and grounded in what we’d like to contribute with our life’s work.  

Each participant will have an opportunity to share current projects and set down a larger plan for the future, formulating an articulated vision that includes vivid descriptions, tools needed, how to manage time, set a schedule, build up the habit of regular practice and make room for experimentation and improvisation along the way.

Artists of any discipline are welcome to attend, as well as those engaged in a wide range of creative projects that require planning and visioning.
